Religion- We have been working on study guides for the quiz on Thursday. We have also worked on Lenten journals. It is chapter 13. The memorized prayer was due this week as well.
English/Voc.- The student have been working on a review packet that was started last week. It is reviewing parts of speech. Each day the students have been asked to study a section of vocabulary. Each day we have had a quiz. The students should study the quizzes and their study guides to prepare for the test. The test is on Friday. We also started the essay chapter in their red grammar book.

Religion- We finished the Gospel of Matthew and the students are preparing for a presentation. They turned in their essays this week.
English/Voc.- We have been working on a study guide and a group study presentation. The quiz is on Friday.

Religion- We have worked on a lenten journal. We have also painted the "bean bag toss game for the gala.
English/Voc.- We have been preparing for the vocabulary quiz on Friday.
Art- Romare Bearden collages. Students will work on these all week and next week.

Religion- Today we worked on a Lenten reflection journal that entailed responding to a question about being lost. Then we watched a video and responded to three questions. We shared the questions in groups. After sharing, we read Romans 10:8-13 and responded in the journal. This week, the student will continue with their journals and their Lenten journey calendar. We will also read and discuss chapter 13 in the religion book.
English- We went over a study guide for parts of speech and definition words in vocabulary. We then did some peer editing with the paragraphs. In computers, the students typed the changes in their paragraphs. The final draft is due tomorrow. The rest of the week we will go over usage rules and practice those rules. In vocabulary, we worked on a study guide and for homework pages 42-45 exercises will be done.

Religion- Today we went over The Shepherd art print and discussed how this image is related to Christ. The students wrote about their own image of Christ. They also worked on a word scramble of key terms and the definitions. They received a study guide for unit 12. QUIZ ON THURSDAY.
English- We worked on vocabulary words and started a study guide of unit 3. QUIZ ON FRIDAY.
The students need to finish unit 3 in the workbook for homework. We also went over organizing a paragraph. Tomorrow they will finish typing an opinion paragraph and we will do peer editing this week.

English- We discussed how to write in-text citations and the students will turn in a rough draft of their essay. It should be typed and double spaced. In vocabulary, we started a study guide. QUIZ IS ON FRIDAY. For homework the students should finish unit 4.

Religion- Today we discussed the power of prayer and looked at some psalms. Tomorrow we will continue with psalms. We will then go on to Wisdom Literature in the Bible.
English- Today we looked at paragraphs in the red grammar book on pages 79-80. The students need to create a concluding sentence for the Lincoln paragraph on pg. 80. This week we will be working on paragraph writing. The students will write a paragraph in proper format. In vocabulary, we worked on unit 3. Students should have the completing sentence section in the workbook done.

Religion- The seventh graders will be doing a Bible study of the Gospel of Matthew. Each student is reading a few chapters with daily questions written in journal form. Each student will write an essay as a final project as well as presenting their information to the class. The students will type the essays in computer class.
English- We are reviewing essay writing formats with in text citations. The religion essay will be graded for English class as well. The students will work on this in computer class. In vocabulary, there will be a test on Wednesday of units 1-3. all students should finish his or her study guides tonight.

The students will write an essay using a quote as a focus of the movie. The students will also take the ACRE test on Thursday. They will also start working on Ash Wednesday Mass and Families.

Monday! Welcome Back!

Religion- Today we finished the movie, The Fourth Wise Man, and the students are writing answers to two questions. Tomorrow we will begin the next chapter in the Religion book. Next week we will take a quiz.
English- We went over the format for writing a paragraph. Tonight the students need to write a rough draft paragraph for each question in Religion. We will edit it tomorrow and rewrite it this week. We will review the types of sentences and add on compound-complex sentences. There will be a spelling test on Friday from Unit 2 in the Vocabulary book. Students should finish unit 2 tonight.
