Religion- Today we went over the Liturgical year in the Church. Tomorrow we will continue to work on Chapter 5 with reading and discussion. There will be a quiz on Chapter 5 on Friday. Next week, there will be a Unit test on Thursday, Nov. 15. We will also get ready for all-school mass and the students will be reading a book about a saint and journal about it each day. They will write a short paper and a presentation at the end of the month. Nicene Creed is due at the end of the month.
English- Today the students were introduced to independent clauses and dependent clauses. Students should re-read their notes tonight. Tomorrow we will do a venn diagram with the elements of the clauses. This week we will work with the clauses which will lead to simple and complex sentences.
7th
Religion- This week we will read and take notes on Chapter 5. Today the students worked on page 60. They will finish it tomorrow. In groups the students will explore the different symbols of the Holy Spirit and do a short presentation of the symbol on next Tuesday. We will start preparing for the family mass. There will be a quiz on Chapter 5 on Friday. Unit test next Thursday.
7 & 8 English- STUDENTS WILL NEED INDEX CARDS ON WEDNESDAY. We went over note taking and will start taking notes for the science fair project. Tonight the 8th graders have 3 practice note cards to finish. 7th will finish theirs tomorrow in class. Students should bring research sources to class to work on their notes. They will start writing their research paper next week.
8th
Religion- Today we had mass and worked on our journal. We will have Socratic Seminar tomorrow during religion time so we will not start Chapter 5 until Wednesday. There will be a chapter quiz next week.
