Religion: Today the students worked on their study guides for Friday's test. Students should review their guides tonight.
English: We worked on pgs 60 -61, exercises 1-3 which should be finished for homework. There is a quiz on tomorrow on clauses.
7th
Religion: We worked on reading and taking notes on Unit 2, chapter one. Students shared their notes with a partner. Students should read and take notes on the sidebars. Quiz on Friday.
English: We corrected homework and started looking at participle phrases in creative writing. Quiz tomorrow.
8th
Religion: Worked on Families today. Tomorrow we will go over the lesson and at 2:00 p.m. the 8th graders will lead a lesson on Advent. Working on early church history research and memorial.
English: Students should continue looking for research to improve their papers. They should be reading a book for the library essay contest. They should also be researching early church history for a one to two page paper.

Religion: Students need to finish Saints books. Power point presentations are due next Tuesday. Today we worked on study guides for the Unit 1 Test, which is on Friday. Tomorrow Nicene Creed is due.
English: Page 379, exercise 3 was started in class and needs to be finished for homework. We are studying Independent and Dependent Clauses. There will be a quiz on Thursday.

Religion: Today we read the articles and took notes. Partners shared their notes with each other. Tomorrow we will read the sidebars and prepare for a quiz. The quiz is on Friday.

Religion: We are preparing for Families. 8th graders will teach the younger students about Advent and the Advent wreath on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.

Religion: Today we continued to read our saints books. Students need to finish their books. The power point presentation is due next Tuesday on 12/4/12. We will take the unit 1 TEST on Friday. Students have study guides and should start reviewing. Students need to have their quiz signed.
English: We worked on clauses again. Students should work on Ex. 2, 6-10 on page 378. Quiz should be signed and returned. Sub. clauses quiz is on Thursday.

Religion- Today we went over the Liturgical year in the Church. Tomorrow we will continue to work on Chapter 5 with reading and discussion. There will be a quiz on Chapter 5 on Friday. Next week, there will be a Unit test on Thursday, Nov. 15. We will also get ready for all-school mass and the students will be reading a book about a saint and journal about it each day. They will write a short paper and a presentation at the end of the month. Nicene Creed is due at the end of the month.
English- Today the students were introduced to independent clauses and dependent clauses. Students should re-read their notes tonight. Tomorrow we will do a venn diagram with the elements of the clauses. This week we will work with the clauses which will lead to simple and complex sentences.
7th
Religion- This week we will read and take notes on Chapter 5. Today the students worked on page 60. They will finish it tomorrow. In groups the students will explore the different symbols of the Holy Spirit and do a short presentation of the symbol on next Tuesday. We will start preparing for the family mass. There will be a quiz on Chapter 5 on Friday. Unit test next Thursday.
7 & 8 English- STUDENTS WILL NEED INDEX CARDS ON WEDNESDAY. We went over note taking and will start taking notes for the science fair project. Tonight the 8th graders have 3 practice note cards to finish. 7th will finish theirs tomorrow in class. Students should bring research sources to class to work on their notes. They will start writing their research paper next week.

Religion- Today we had mass and worked on our journal. We will have Socratic Seminar tomorrow during religion time so we will not start Chapter 5 until Wednesday. There will be a chapter quiz next week.
