6TH
Religion- This week the students presented their Temples.  We continued reading pgs. 64-65 and discussed and art poster.
English- We are working on rewriting two paragraphs.  Students should edit and type The Fourth Wise Man paragraphs.  We will continue to work on paragraph writing.  Students will take a vocabulary quiz on Friday.

7th
Religion- We have been working on a study guide for the Unit 2 test.  The test will be next week.
English- Reviewed format for research paper and works cited which is due Friday.  We worked on vocabulary review pages.

8th
Religion- We are working on our memorials.  Students should have their research and reflection page due on Friday.  Memorials are progressing with hopes that they will be finished by Friday.
English- We are working on research and work cited pages which are due on Friday.

Tuesday

6th
Religion- The students are still working on their temples.  They should bring their materials to class.
English- Today the students took a test.  They started on the chapter on modifiers.

7th
Religion- The students took their quiz.
English- The students worked on their crossword puzzles.  They have a vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

8th
Religion- The students started a study guide for their quiz which will take place on Friday.
English- The students worked on a crossword puzzle with a partner.  Tomorrow they have a quiz on vocabulary.

Monday

6th
Religion- Working on a Temple model.  Students need to bring in materials for their models.
Voc.- We will start going over the vocabulary words to prepare for the test next week.
English- Today we worked on pg. 400.  Tonight students should finish their paragraphs and review for the test tomorrow.  The test is on simple, compound and complex sentences.
7th
Religion- We worked on the study guides.  Tomorrow is a quiz on chapter 5.  Friday is the Unit 2 test.
English- We created a crossword puzzle of the vocabulary words with a partner.  The quiz is on Wednesday.
8th
Religion- We had mass today.  We will finish chapter 1 in Unit 2.  There will be a quiz on Friday.
English- We went over works cited.  All students have a handout packet.  We will take a test on subject verb agreement and pronoun and antecedents on Thursday.  Vocabulary quiz will be on Wednesday.  Tonight the students should finish creating a crossword puzzle for homework.

PARENTS, PLEASE CHECK JUPITER GRADES EVERY WEEK.  STUDENTS SHOULD BE CHECKING AS WELL.  IF YOU LOST THE PASSWORD, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL SEND IT TO YOU.

Monday! Welcome Back!

6th
Religion- Today we finished the movie, The Fourth Wise Man, and the students are writing answers to two questions.  Tomorrow we will begin the next chapter in the Religion book.  Next week we will take a quiz.
English- We went over the format for writing a paragraph.  Tonight the students need to write a rough draft paragraph for each question in Religion.  We will edit it tomorrow and rewrite it this week.  We will review the types of sentences and add on compound-complex sentences.  There will be a spelling test on Friday from  Unit 2 in the Vocabulary book.  Students should finish unit 2 tonight.
7th
Religion- We finished chapter 4 in unit 2.  There will be a quiz on Wednesday.  Tonight students should create a study guide.  We will start chapter 5 this week and take a quiz next week as well as a unit 2 test.
English- We went over appositive phrases.  We will review all phrases this week  and take a test on Friday. Tonight students should finish ex. 19 and C on pages 375-377.
8th
Religion- We had mass today.  We will work on the next chapter in the Religion book as well as mass responses.
English- This week we will review agreement of subject and verbs as well as pronouns and antecedents.  Test is next week.  We will go over worksheets as practice for the entrance exams.
